ALL THINGS MUST PASS
I must admit that I never dreamed that I would be writing this communication.
After careful deliberation, the HMP executive board of directors has decided that it is time to shut down the Hollywood Media Professionals.
Of course, the HMP is the child of the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters organization. The PPB has a storied history which began in 1966. Our
photo archives are filled with images of amazing people who made a huge impact on broadcasting and media.
Times have changed and like many other fraternal organizations, HMP/PPB has seen its relevance slowly evaporate. The Covid 19 pandemic didn't
help things either. The pandemic accelerated the erosion.
As you know, HMP has presented only two luncheons since the pandemic receded. (The tribute to TV Game Shows and the tribute to Vin Di Bona
and America's Funniest Home Videos TV show). Each of these events barely broke even. The Coffee With series were much cheaper to present
but even these interesting discussions barely broke even.
In the meantime, PPB/HMP has ongoing monthly expenses to keep operating. To be totally transparent, our organization's bank balance is nearly
depleted. Final tax returns will need to be submitted to the IRS and Franchise Tax Board and the California Secretary of State will be officially
notified that our organization will cease to exist.
I have so many wonderful memories of previous PPB/HMP events. I suspect that you do too. My fondest memories include meeting so many talented
and interesting people. Thank you for your years of support. May you enjoy robust health and many more happy times.Thank you for your years
