A standing ovation was given to Norm Crosby and to Colleen Williams and Chuck Henry at PPBs celebrity luncheon in the Sportsmen's Lodge Empire Ballroom. The honorees featured the event on their four o'clock Friday newscast expressing their appreciation for the honor. Chuck and Fritz commented on the impressive quality of the Art Gilmore Career Achievement Award, with Chuck telling of his boyhood fascination with microphones and TV cameras. NBC4-LA's Fritz Coleman took off his weathercaster persona at the March 28 PPB celebrity luncheon and put on his standup comedian's robe to regale attendees with stories about PPB's two honored guests, Colleen Williams and Chuck Henry. In attendance at a front table were many of those who direct NBC4-LA's news gathering and on-air presentations. Later in the day, Chuck, Colleen and dais member Alex Calder had their hands full describing a very slow-moving police chase from Alex's helicopter view.
